Chaque année, le Muséoparc Vanier fait appel à la communauté afin de participer à une étape essentielle à la production de sirop d’érable : l’entaillage des érables. La Cabane à sucre Vanier est d’ailleurs la seule à être active en milieu urbain au pays.
Petits et grands, familles, couples et camarades sont invités à venir dans la forêt du parc Richelieu le samedi 14 février, de 9 h à 12 h, pour entailler les érables à sucre de façon traditionnelle : percer des trous dans les érables, insérer des chalumeaux et accrocher des chaudières pour récolter l’eau d’érable, soit la sève sucrée de l’arbre.
- Veuillez apporter une perceuse sans fil et des piles de rechange chargées si vous en avez.
- Habillez-vous convenablement selon la météo prévue pour la journée.
- Soupe aux pois, café et chocolat chaud seront servis à la Cabane après l’entaillage pour remercier les participants pour leurs efforts.
Aucune réservation requise : vous n’avez qu’à vous présenter sur place entre 9 h et 12 h le samedi 14 février 2026.

Every year, the Vanier Museopark seeks the help of the community to take part in an essential step in the production of maple syrup at its sugar shack: maple tree tapping. The Vanier Sugar Shack is the only operating sugar shack in an urban setting in Canada!
Young and old, families, couples and friends are invited to come to the Richelieu Park forest, about 5 minutes from downtown Ottawa, to tap sugar maple trees in the traditional way: drilling holes in the trees, inserting spigots and hanging buckets to collect maple water, the tree’s sweet sap.
- Please bring a wireless drill and charged batteries if you can.
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- Pea soup, coffee and hot chocolate will be served at the Vanier Sugar Shack after the tree tapping event to thank our participants for their efforts!
No reservation required: just show up between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
